- Basic lighting : is the kind of lighting you use to enlighten a space well. Is also the kind of light that you switch on firstly when you enter a space. The atmosphere is less important.
- Accent lighting : is used to emphasize objects, for instance a painting or a nice vase.
- Atmospheric lighting : is used to evoque a nice atmosphere by not using too much light. The light colour tends to yellow-orange.
- Functional lighting : is used on places where you need extra light, for instance at the desk or on places where you want to read a book
Our interior lighting is classified in different categories :
- Track lighting : railspots installed on a rail. It's a flexible system that can be used for accent lighting. Is often used in shops or supermarkets.
- Table lamps : create an intimate atmosphere and are very decorative.
- Pendant lights : suspending lights which are used as basic lighting as well as for atmospheric lighitng (especially when they are dimmable).
- Downlights : make a complete part with the ceiling. Are mainly used as basic lighting but can be useful as accent lighting (for instance with a small light beam).
- Ceiling lights : is mainly basic lighting but there are also types where you can emphasize stuff (think about the orientable ceiling spots with a small light beam).
- Wall lights : are real atmosphere creators. Can create wonderful effect and are often very decorative
- Picture lighting : is used to enlighten paintings and is thus accent lighting.
- Floor lamps : used for additional lighting. Can be functional (surely in combination with a reading light) and atmospheric.
- Desk lamps : are purely functional
- Lamp shades : can be used for pendant lights, floor lamps, table lamps and wall lights.
- High bays : are functional and have to emit a lot of light
- Low bays : are long, functional and ensure a good spreading of the light
- Led panels : are mainly used in offices as basic lighting for replacement of neon lights
- Led tube fixture : is basic lighting and are the ideal replacements for your neon light fixtures.
